Make Staff Easier to Recognize in Arma Reforger Chat
Persistent role prefixes help players recognize staff in chat and help moderators answer questions with less ambiguity.

Chat moves quickly on a busy server. When a player needs help, they should be able to recognize who is responding. Staff Chat Roles adds a visible role prefix beside staff names in Arma Reforger chat, giving the community a clearer cue about who is speaking.
Make staff identity visible
A configured prefix such as Moderator or Support helps players understand who is answering a question or guiding a conversation. Roles are stored persistently and applied when staff members send chat messages, so the label does not need to be added by hand each time.
A role prefix is an identity cue, not a replacement for server permissions or staff procedures. Keep access controls and moderation rules in place, and use the label to make staff easier to recognize.
Set up roles for your community
Start with a small set of roles that tell players what kind of help they can expect. For example, Admin, Moderator, and Support are easier to understand than a long list of internal titles.
The project’s documented commands let an administrator create roles, assign them to players by Bohemia identifier, and change their chat colors. The examples below use the documented command forms; replace the bracketed values with the role name, player identifier, and color values you intend to use.
- Create a role:
#cr role add [Role-Name] - Assign a role to a player:
#cr player add [Role-Name] [Bohemia-Identifier] - Set a role color:
#cr role edit color [Role-Name] [R] [G] [B] [A]
Role-management commands require an administrator to log in with #login. Check the project guide for installation steps and the full command list, including role removal and editing.
Test the experience before launch
After configuring roles, test chat from both a staff account and a regular player account. Confirm that the right prefix appears, the color is readable, and role assignments match your current staff list. Include role changes in your onboarding and offboarding process so former staff do not keep a label they no longer need.
Small interface details can make a community easier to navigate. A consistent staff prefix gives players a quick way to identify who is helping, while keeping the conversation inside the game.
